– The forest festival begins today and will continue for 4 days
Mulugu, January 28 (Gatla News): The grand festival is set to begin with the arrival of Sarakka.
The state government has taken measures to ensure that there are no disruptions. The grand festival will begin this evening with the arrival of Saralamma, Pagididda Raju, and Govinda Raju. The following day, Mother Sammakka will be seated on the altar, and the full festival will unfold with the forest deities. Devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and other states are arriving in large numbers to visit the forest deities. They are taking baths in the Jampanna stream and offering gold equivalent to their height. The state government has taken the Medaram Maha Jatara very seriously and has made extensive arrangements. It has spent Rs. 251 crore on temple development and festival arrangements. A total of 42,027 officials and staff from 21 departments will be performing duties at the Medaram festival.
