JAC State Co-Chairman of Mala Sanghas Angari Pradeep called on us to continue fighting for the rights of Malas with the spirit of Bhima Koregaon Mahar war heroes. In honor of the 207th Shaurya Diwas of Bhima Koregaon at Armoor Mandal Center, Bhima Koregaon Vijay Diwas was celebrated in a grand manner under the auspices of JAC of Mala Sanghas, Ambedkar Yuvajana Sangha, Dalit Aikya Sanghatan, Yashobuddha Foundation, and leaders of various Dalit associations. Leaders of various Dalit associations garlanded the statue of Ambedkar at the local Ambedkar Chowk. Later, they paid homage at the martyrs’ stupa of the Mahar soldiers who lost their lives in the battle of Bhima Koregaon on January 1, 1818. Under the auspices of the Yasho Buddha Foundation, they performed Buddha Vandana and unveiled the New Year’s Kalamani. On this occasion, leaders of various associations, Argul Suresh, D. Lingannamala, Kontham Murali, Marla Prabhakar, and Pinja Bhumeshwar, spoke and explained that Bhima Koregaon Shaurya Diwas is a symbol of the victory of the Mahar Regiment fighters over the Brahmin Peshwas. They explained that 500 Mahar warriors and 28,000 Peshwa Brahmin army fought a fierce battle at the Bhima River in Maharashtra Koregaon and achieved victory. They vowed to fight against Manuwadani with the spirit of the Mahar warriors. Later, retired teacher Madari Rajanna, who received an honorary doctorate in the field of social work, was felicitated. Matta Amruth Rao, Abdul Hussain, Jinnah Janardhan, Vikas Power, Kontham Poorna, Ambulance Raju, team leaders, Buddhist members, and others participated in the program.
