It has been confirmed that more than 21 children have died due to this syrup so far in the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. However, while the Shresan Pharmaceuticals company in Tamil Nadu is manufacturing this medicine, the police have found that the syrup is being manufactured in an unsanitary environment. It has also been found that diethylene glycol was added 500 times more than the permitted amount and the company owner, Ranganathan, has been arrested.: The police have arrested the head of the Shresan Pharmaceuticals company that manufactured the dangerous Coldrif cough syrup. This action was taken after it was confirmed that about 21 children have died in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan due to this poisonous syrup so far. As part of the investigation into this case, a seven-member team of Madhya Pradesh Police went into action and arrested the owner of the company, G. Ranganatha, in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. However, a police officer revealed that Ranganathan will soon be produced in a Chennai court. They said that a transfer remand will be sought for further investigation. As soon as the remand is granted, he will be transferred from Chennai to Madhya Pradesh and further investigation will be conducted.
