Nizamabad, April 06 (Gatla News)
Collector Rajiv Gandhi said that the Election Commission has allowed the media persons who will get media passes (letters of authority) through the Election Commission for polling counting coverage to exercise their right to vote through postal ballot in the current parliamentary elections. However, he suggested that those who could not go to the polling stations to vote on the polling day should use the postal ballot option. It has been clarified that only Form-12 (D) submitted in the offices of the respective Legislative Constituency Returning Officers before April 20th of this month will be considered and an opportunity for postal ballot will be provided. Form-12 (D) applications can be obtained from the office of the Nodal Officer as well as the offices of the Returning Officers, the DPRO office and can also be downloaded from the Election Commission portal. Those who have applied within the prescribed period will have to go to the office of the returning officer of the respective legislative constituency and vote by postal ballot. To this end, a special Postal Voting Center (PVC) will be available in the Returning Officer’s office and a help desk is also being set up, he said. The Collector made it clear that those who have applied for postal ballot through the prescribed form will not be given the opportunity to go to the polling center on the polling day under any circumstances and their name will be marked under the postal ballot in the voter list. Therefore, the media representatives who want to use the postal ballot should contact the DPRO office. Collector suggested.
