Nizamabad, January 05 (Gatla News): Collector Ila Tripathi instructed officials to give utmost priority to the agricultural sector to further enhance the glory of Nizamabad district, which has its own unique identity in the field of agriculture. The Collector presided over the district-level technical committee meeting held on Monday at the District Central Cooperative Bank meeting hall, in her capacity as the person in charge. Officials and progressive farmers from the combined Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts participated.

The Collector inquired about the support being provided to farmers through the cooperative bank and the implementation of various programs.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that farmers should be encouraged towards modern farming practices and ensured that adequate support is provided to those who need it. She specifically instructed that support should be provided to turmeric farmers in the district, and measures should be taken to reduce investment costs by utilizing modern machinery. The Collector clarified that sufficient stocks of urea fertilizer are available in the district to meet the needs of the farmers. She assured that the district administration would take responsibility for procuring additional stocks if needed, and that farmers need not worry about this. She suggested that progressive farmers should work to dispel the misconceptions prevailing among farmers regarding urea.

She emphasized the need for widespread awareness campaigns to ensure that urea is used only in the required quantities. The government has launched a urea booking app to curb irregularities such as illegal trafficking, black marketing, and the involvement of middlemen in the distribution of urea fertilizers, he said. He added that steps should be taken to ensure that farmers utilize this app. DCCB General Manager Anupama, CEO Nagabhushanam, Lead Bank District Manager Sunil, and officials from the agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and cooperative departments of the combined district participated in the meeting.p
