Mortad,March 16(Gala News): Venkateswara Swamy who fulfills the wishes of devotees in the Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, which is held in the mandal center. It is noteworthy that the largest and oldest rath belongs to Lord Venkateswara Swamy. The 50 feet high wooden rath was made by Gaddam Mallareddy in 1932. There are many stories in circulation about Lord Venkateswara Swamy, one of the ancient temples. A devotee who could not go to Tirupati and visit the Lord prayed to the Supreme Lord and the Lord, who materialized in the form of a snake, appeared in Mortad. Another story is being circulated to say that what appeared in Mortad was actually Lord Venkateswara Swamy of Tirupati. There is a stone inscription at the back of the Mortad Venkateswara Swamy temple. This is said by the ancients to be a sign to describe the history of the temple. The VDC has made all arrangements to organize the Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy Rathotsavam and Jatara at Mortad, where devotees are showered with gold and silver to fulfill their wishes.
