Nizamabad, February 20 (Gatla News): Vegetable Umarani took charge as the mayor of Nizamabad city on Friday. She was seated on the mayor’s seat in the presence of State Pradesh Congress Committee President Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, government advisor Mohammad Ali Shabbir, and Rural Constituency MLA Rekulapalli Bhupathi Reddy in the Mayor’s Chamber of the Municipal Corporation. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Umarani said that the development of the city is our goal by working hard to ensure the development of Nizamabad city in all fields. Until the elections, she was an ordinary woman and after being given a ticket as a corporator by the Congress Party from the 49th division of Nizamabad city, she stood in the election fray and won and officially took charge of the mayor today. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnam said that the people blessed her in the Panchayat elections and also in the municipal elections. He said that the Congress rule will continue according to the people’s thoughts. He said that this is the day when the Telangana Special Bill was passed in 2014. He said that even after 12 years, the central government is still discriminating against the state government. The minister said that his government will work to ensure that justice is done to the Telangana activists. He clarified that a committee will be formed soon and an appropriate decision will be taken regarding the 250-yard plot. They said that it is their responsibility to support the Telangana activists. PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud said that politics is their goal until the elections and development is their goal after that. He advised the mayor to coordinate all the divisions in the city. He said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has paid special attention to Nizamabad and has also requested special funds for development. On this occasion, many leaders congratulated the new mayor Umarani.
