Armoor, December 24(Gatla News): Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ School in Perkit, Armoor mandal. He inspected the dormitory, store room, kitchen, playground, etc. He inspected the quality of rice and other goods stored in the store room, and the midday meal cooked for the students. He checked whether the food items were as per the menu. When the Collector asked where the supervising officer was, the duty teacher said that she was participating in a strike. The Collector ordered that the responsible persons should be available and monitor the school management properly and ensure that the students do not face any problems. He inquired whether boiled eggs are being served every day as per the menu. He advised the administrators to take special precautions so that the food items, goods and vegetables used to prepare the meals do not get contaminated. He advised that the goods should be stored in steel boxes and their lids should be tightly closed, and that vegetables and other goods should not be kept on the floor. He advised that Vijaya Company cooking oil and Vijaya Dairy milk should be used.
He asked that information be provided to the authorities at the time of supply of substandard rice, other food items and vegetables. He ordered that priority be given to protecting the health of the students and regular health checks should be conducted. The collector was accompanied by Armoor RDO Rajagoud and others.
