Morthad, May 07 (Gatla News): Members of the Mortad Gouda Association announced that the grand festivities marking the consecration of the idol of Sri Renuka Mata Putta Yellamma will be celebrated with great splendor from the 7th to the 12th of this month. These festivities will be conducted under the divine auspices of Sri Vidyaranya Bharathi Swamiji, the Pontiff of the Sri Hampi Karnataka Virupaksha Vidyaranya Mahasamsthanam. As part of the celebrations, the traditional *Pandiri* (ceremonial canopy) installation rituals were held on the 6th. On the 7th, members of the Gouda Association, accompanied by their families, performed special *Ghatam* (sacred pot) pujas and *Jogu* rituals, offering *Mangala Haratis* (auspicious lamps). Subsequently, a magnificent procession (*Shobhayatra*) of Sri Renuka Yellamma was conducted, followed by the *Jaladhivasam* (ritual immersion in water). The organizers stated that on the 8th, *Yagna* (sacrificial fire) rituals and the actual idol consecration ceremony will take place, alongside the provision of free food (*Annasatram*) for devotees. On the 9th, *Jogu* rituals will be performed at the homes of the Goundla community members.
On the 10th, worship of village deities, *Ganga Bonam*, *Pochamma Bonam*, *Veyyi Kandla Bonam* (Thousand-Eyed Bonam), and a road show will be conducted, culminating in the celestial wedding (*Kalyanam*) of Pochamma. On the 11th, traditional rituals such as *Katamayya Bonam*, *Putta Bangaram*, *Yellamma Talli* costume enactments, *Mailapolu*, *Sunku Biyyam*, and *Chitrakannu* will be performed. Finally, on the 12th, the main *Bonam* festivities, the celestial wedding of Sri Renuka Yellamma and Jamadagni, *Nagavalli* rituals, and *Bali* (sacrificial) ceremonies will be conducted. The organizers have requested devotees to attend these grand festivities in large numbers to receive the blessings of the Goddess.
