Nizamabad, May 21 (Gatla News): Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana has directed officials to implement a permanent solution regarding the drinking water pipeline leakage on the route leading to Mirchi Compound. Accompanied by Municipal Commissioner Dileep Kumar and Public Health Deputy Engineer (DE) Srikanth, the MLA inspected the leaking pipeline located at Marwadi Galli and Mirchi Compound within the city. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA noted that the drinking water pipeline has been leaking for the past three days, resulting in the contamination of the water supply and the flow of filthy water into household taps. He criticized the officials for their failure to respond, pointing out that the public has been enduring severe hardships for three days. He emphasized the need to conduct a survey of the old pipeline—which has been in place for years—and to implement a permanent remedy. He directed that a new pipeline be laid to ensure that the public faces no further inconvenience, and ordered that the works be completed as expeditiously as possible. He further stated that the concerned officials must be held accountable to both the corporators and the general public. Additionally, he suggested that the hand pumps in Mirchi Compound be repaired and restored to working condition, stressing the importance of ensuring that the public faces no drinking water shortages during the summer season. The MLA also remarked that the drainage issue at Gunj Kaman—which has persisted for the past few days—remains completely unresolved, describing the situation as being “stagnant” despite the passage of time. He questioned why the drainage works had not yet commenced, given that the tendering process had already been completed. He stated that the contractor should be blacklisted if found negligent. He issued orders that the works must be completed within the next three days. Accompanying the MLA were local Corporator Bantu Preethi Praveen, Corporation AE Srikanth, and staff members.
