– Collector Ila Tripathi Clarifies

Nizamabad, May 18 (Gatla News): Collector Ila Tripathi stated in a press release on Monday that permissions for sand transportation within the district are being issued strictly in accordance with government regulations. The Collector emphasized that any violation of these regulations would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and that stringent measures have been implemented through relevant departments to prevent any scope for illegal sand transportation.

She clarified that permission for transporting sand from the Manjeera River—located on the outskirts of Hungerga village in Pothangal Mandal—was granted only after obtaining the necessary environmental clearances. She noted that sand transportation is currently proceeding through the TGMDCL (Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.), with strict adherence to all regulations; furthermore, acting on her directives, the Bodhan RDO conducted a field-level inspection and submitted a report confirming this compliance. The Collector further clarified that waybills are being thoroughly scrutinized and that sand-carrying vehicles are permitted to operate only between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

She added that the operations being conducted by the TGMDCL are under close and constant supervision. To ensure accuracy in weighing and to prevent any instances of overloading, surveillance has been established using CCTV cameras. Additionally, she stated that a GPS tracking system is being utilized to monitor the movement of sand-laden vehicles in real-time—allowing the TGMDCL headquarters to track the exact origin and destination of each vehicle online. The Collector stated that permission is being granted for the transportation of sand via tractors from other sand reaches within the district through the “Mana Isuka Vahanam” (Our Sand Vehicle) online booking app.
He added that, to ensure there is no scope for the illegal transportation of sand, officials from relevant departments are being coordinated to conduct extensive inspections. The Collector clarified that sand transportation is being carried out transparently in accordance with government guidelines, and there is no room for any misconceptions in this regard.
